Online shopping has revolutionised and maximised our time in the fast-paced world we live in. It is always a gamble if we are purchasing the correct size or not or if we are measuring ourselves correctly to get the perfect size! Many of BRIE Corporate’s clients have the option to order their uniforms on our online portal. We have put together a step by step how to measure guide for both ladies and gent’s, to ensure you measure and order your uniforms correctly.
If you are having trouble matching the sizes to the chart, please contact BRIE Corporate friendly customer service team for assistance. We are always happy to help.
What you need…
– a tape measure preferably fabric or bendable (not a carpentry one or ruler)
– Full size mirror to ensure you measure the correct area and accurately
– A helper to take the measurements for you as these will be more accurate while you stand in a relaxed position, not always possible, in this case use the mirror for the most accurate measurement.
TIPS – For more accurate measurements, measure on bare skin, otherwise use a firm tape measure over fitted clothing.
– For an accurate body measurement, please keep the tape measure taut.
How to Measure Ladies
BUST
Measure under your arms and across your shoulder blades, around the fullest part of your chest. Hold your finger between your body and the tape.
WAIST
Measure around your natural waistline while holding one finger between body and tape.
HIPS
Measure around the fullest part of the hips (and Bottom!) (about 20 – 24cm down the side from your natural waistline) ensuring the tape is level as this part can be a bit tricky.
How to Measure Men
NECK
Measure around the middle of your neck at collar level, keeping the tape loose to make allowance for comfort. (put on a shirt to help guide you if needed) allowing between one to two fingers width under the tape measure.
CHEST
Measure under your arms and across shoulder blades, around the fullest part of your chest. Hold one finger between body and tape.
WAIST
Measure around the natural waistline while holding one finger between body and tape. Measure over shirt at position where your pants would normally sit.
OUTSIDE LEG SEAM
Measure the outside of your leg from the top of the waistband to the hem of a well-fitting pair of pants. We prefer this is done with the actual pants that require altering as all pants fit differently.
